Visiting the LA Chinese Consulate Document Hall: Address, Parking & Queue
The Consulate document hall is on the 3rd floor of 500 Shatto Place, open Monday to Friday 9:00–14:00, with Mondays, Fridays and the days around long holidays the busiest. The building has no public parking and nearby spots are mostly 2-hour limited street parking; inside, you must take a queue number by service category from the self-service kiosk, and picking the wrong one means queuing again.
LA Chinese Consulate 2026 Holiday Schedule & October Closure
The Consulate document hall has 13 holiday closures scheduled for 2026, covering both Chinese holidays and US federal holidays. It will be closed October 1–5 (Chinese National Day) and October 12 — plan your application around these dates.
New Mailing Address & Shipping Rules for the LA Chinese Consulate
The Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles has moved its document-processing mailing address to 500 Shatto Place, Room 310. The old 443 Shatto Place address no longer accepts application materials. Use trackable USPS Priority Mail with no signature-confirmation service and no Smart Locker — since August 24, 2026, mail requiring a recipient signature is returned by the post office.
